OpenAI Identifies Security Issue in Axios Library, No User Data Compromised
OpenAI has identified a security issue involving the third-party developer library Axios. The company said the issue is part of a broader industry-wide incident.
No evidence has been found that OpenAI user data was accessed, its systems were breached, or its software was tampered with. Out of an abundance of caution, OpenAI is taking steps to protect the process used to certify its macOS application as legitimate. The company is updating its security certification, which will require all macOS users to update their OpenAI apps to the latest version. OpenAI said the move will help guard against any risk—however small—of fraudulent apps masquerading as OpenAI being distributed.
