Alibaba Cloud Moves to Trademark 'HiClaw'—Its Open-Source Multi-Agent System

Alibaba Cloud is locking down its IP. The company has filed two "HICLAW" trademark applications in China, covering website services and scientific instruments. The filings, currently under review, come through its wholly-owned subsidiary Hangzhou Alibaba Cloud Feitian Information Technology. HiClaw is Alibaba Cloud's open-source multi-agent collaboration system, launched in March to let multiple AI agents team up on complex tasks. The trademark move suggests it's more than just a side project.
