Artemis data shows stablecoins are becoming a global payment backbone: "no bank, no weekends, no borders." March volumes climbed even higher, reaching a new record of $7.5 trillion. In Q1 2026, total stablecoin supply reached $315 billion, accounting for 75% of all crypto transaction volume.

Analysts at Standard Chartered expect the stablecoin market cap to hit $2 trillion by 2028. And the head of content at trading firm GSR warned that banks or fintechs ignoring this explosive growth do so at their own peril.
