Oil Prices Slide as Trump Signals US Exit From Iran
Oil prices took a hit after President Trump said the US would pull out of Iran within two to three weeks—deal or no deal. WTI crude fell below $98 a barrel, dropping 3.78% on the day. Brent crude slid 3.3%.

Thomas Mathews of Capital Economics said hopes for de-escalation are giving markets a lift. But he cautioned that even if the war ends soon, the fallout could linger. "Both sides have signaled progress before, and many of those signals came to nothing," he noted.
