Japan's FSA Warns KuCoin and Others Over Unregistered Derivatives Services
Japan's financial watchdog is cracking down on offshore crypto platforms. The Financial Services Agency (FSA) has sent warning letters to KuCoin, NeonFX, theoption, and GTCFX. The charge? Offering over-the-counter derivatives trading to Japanese residents without proper registration.

The notices went out in March. KuCoin was specifically cited as a platform serving Japanese users. This isn't the first time KuCoin has landed on the regulator's radar. Back in November 2024, the FSA issued similar warnings to KuCoin and Bybit. Then in February 2025, it asked Apple and Google to suspend downloads of the KuCoin app.
