Pump.fun has updated its fee mechanism, now allowing creators only one chance to redirect fees.
Pump.fun Updates Fee Mechanism to Curb Token Launch Manipulation
Pump.fun is rolling out some changes to its fee structure. Alon, one of the platform's co-founders, shared the news on X on March 25th. The goal? To tackle malicious manipulation during token launches.

Here's how things used to work. Every token created on Pump.fun had what was called a Coin Admin. That admin could change fee recipients and distribution setups on the fly. That flexibility, unfortunately, opened the door for some shady tactics. A creator might, for instance, route fees to someone else at first, wait for the token to gain traction, and then redirect them back to their own wallet. You can see how that would hurt regular users.
So what's changed? Now, all tokens will default to the standard creator fee model—with the exception of rebate tokens. Creators get just one shot to redirect fees to a different wallet. After that, the fee settings are locked in.
If a creator decides not to use that one-time opportunity right away? No worries. They can hold onto it and use it later when they actually need to. As for existing tokens that already had fees assigned, those will be locked under their current settings. Existing tokens on the standard fee model, though, will get that one-time change option.
