X to Overhaul Creator Payouts, Prioritizing Local Reach
Big changes are coming to X's creator monetization system. According to Nikita Bier, a product lead at the platform, the new payout structure will roll out this Thursday, March 26th.

The key shift? More weight will be given to views coming from a creator's own region.
Bier explained that the update is meant to encourage content that really clicks with users in the creator's home country, nearby nations, and those who share the same language. The goal? To dial back the incentive for creators to chase after traffic from US or Japan-based accounts.
In the end, X is hoping this tweak will help push the platform toward a more diverse content ecosystem.
