Alibaba Cloud has announced price hikes of up to 34% for its AI computing and storage products.
Alibaba Cloud Hikes AI Computing Prices Up to 34% as Token Demand Explodes
Alibaba Cloud just raised the cost of AI. In an official announcement, the company cited a global AI demand surge and supply chain inflation, pushing prices up as much as 34%. T-Head's Zhenwu 810E compute cards will cost 5% to 34% more, and the CPFS file storage (AI edition) is jumping 30%.

But it's not just hardware costs. Insiders say the real driver is a "soaring surge in token calls." Alibaba's MaaS platform, Bailian, just posted its strongest quarter ever—and the company is now channeling limited AI compute capacity toward its token business. The message is clear: token demand is red-hot, and pricing is catching up.
