Huawei Joins AI Agent Race at OS Level: Xiaoyi Claw Beta Drops on HarmonyOS
The AI agent war is moving underground—into the operating system. Huawei just showed off Xiaoyi Claw Beta, a new feature baked into HarmonyOS that brings OpenClaw's agent smarts to the Xiaoyi assistant. Flip the switch, and it can draft documents, write PPTs, auto-reply to emails—and sync across phones, tablets, and PCs. It even ships with preset personalities like "Info Hunter" and "Heart-to-Heart Friend."
He Gang, Huawei's Consumer BG CEO, gave it a personal test drive: "Used it a few days—pleasantly surprised. Gets stuff done." Huawei says the feature is in limited beta; no official launch date yet.
The move comes just days after Xiaomi dropped Xiaomi miclaw, China's first mobile agent, built on its MiMo model. The message is clear: the AI agent fight is no longer just about apps—it's about who controls the OS layer.
