China Adds to Gold Hoard for 16th Straight Month—Now at 2,308 Tons
The People's Bank of China isn't done buying gold. New data shows reserves ticked up again in February, hitting 74.22 million ounces—that's roughly 2,308.5 tons. The increase? A modest 30,000 ounces, or about 0.93 tons. But it's the streak that matters: this is the 16th month in a row that China's central bank has added to its gold pile.
End of January levels were 74.19 million ounces (around 2,307.6 tons), so the move is small but consistent. Beijing keeps accumulating.
