Zerion Says North Korean Hackers Used AI to Steal $100K from Hot Wallet
Crypto wallet Zerion has disclosed that North Korean hackers carried out a long-term social engineering attack using AI, stealing about $100,000 from the company's hot wallet last week.
Zerion confirmed that user funds, applications, and infrastructure were not affected and has proactively taken its web application offline as a precaution. The attackers obtained login sessions and credentials of some team members, as well as the company's hot wallet private key, Zerion added, noting that AI is changing how cyber threats operate.
