China Raises Domestic Gasoline and Diesel Prices by 420 and 400 Yuan per Ton Effective April 7
China Raises Gasoline and Diesel Prices, but Less Than Formula Suggests
China is raising fuel prices. Starting at midnight on April 7th, gasoline prices will go up by 420 yuan per ton, and diesel by 400 yuan per ton, according to the National Development and Reform Commission.
The move is meant to counter sharp swings in global oil prices and soften the impact on domestic markets. The actual increase is lower than the formula-based calculated amount—800 yuan per ton for gasoline and 770 yuan for diesel.

State-owned giants PetroChina, Sinopec, and CNOOC, along with other refiners, will handle production and distribution to keep supply stable and strictly follow the pricing policy. Local authorities will step up market supervision and crack down on price violations. Consumers can report illegal pricing through the 12315 platform.
