Asia-Pacific Stocks Surge as US and Iran Agree to Two-Week Ceasefire

Asia-Pacific markets rallied sharply on news of a two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran. Taiwan's Taiex jumped 4.61% to 34,761.38. Japan's Nikkei 225 soared 5.39% to 56,308.42. South Korea's KOSPI surged 6.87% to 5,872.34.

The MSCI Asia Pacific index extended its gains to 5%. Sri Lanka's Colombo All-Share rose 4.2%, while India's SENSEX and NIFTY each climbed 3.7%. In Europe, futures also pointed higher. The Euro Stoxx 50 futures gained 5.3%, Germany's DAX futures added 5.2%, and the FTSE 100 futures rose 2.9%.
