Metaplanet Buys 5K BTC in Q1, Becomes Third-Largest Corporate Holder
Metaplanet just made a big move. CEO Simon Gerovich said the company bought 5,075 BTC in the first quarter of 2026 at an average price of roughly $79,898. Total spend came to about $405.5 million. Its year-to-date bitcoin yield stands at 2.8%.

As of March 31st, the company holds 40,177 BTC at a total cost of roughly $4.18 billion, with an average purchase price of about $104,106. That puts Metaplanet ahead of MARA Holdings, making it the third-largest corporate bitcoin holder.
