Claude has launched a new computer control feature that can directly operate a user's computer

Claude Now Controls Your Mac—Open Apps, Browse Web, Fill Spreadsheets on Your Behalf

Claude is stepping out of the chat. The AI can now operate your macOS computer—opening apps, browsing the web, filling spreadsheets, and handling any desktop task. It's a research preview, available in Claude Cowork and Claude Code. Claude will first try to use connected integrations (Slack, calendar, etc.), and if a tool lacks a connector, it will ask for permission to open apps on your screen.

You can assign tasks from your phone, walk away, and check the results on your computer later. Recurring tasks? Set it to scan emails every morning or pull reports every Friday. The feature is live for Pro and Max users. Your AI assistant is now a virtual operator.
