Binance Scores Second Legal Win: U.S. Courts Dismiss Terrorism Financing Lawsuits in Alabama and New York
Binance just notched another courtroom victory. A federal court in Alabama dismissed all claims against the exchange under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), marking the second such ruling in weeks. Binance's Chief Legal Officer Eleanor Hughes called it a win for due process: "Sanctions compliance and terrorist financing require evidence and legal rigor. Courts have now twice found these allegations baseless."
The Alabama court issued a 19-page ruling, calling the plaintiffs' complaint a "shotgun pleading" that lumped defendants together without distinguishing individual conduct. It also said they failed to provide a "short and plain statement" of their claims.

Binance announced the decision on X, noting it follows a similar ruling from the Southern District of New York just days earlier, where 535 plaintiffs alleged Binance supported 64 terrorist attacks. That court issued a 62-page ruling finding no proof the exchange aided terrorists, facilitated attacks, or conspired with terror groups.
"These results speak for themselves," Binance said. "We will not tolerate abuse of the judicial system against our industry." The Alabama court gave plaintiffs until April 10, 2026, to refile with a properly pleaded complaint.
