Senator Warren Seeks Intel on Bitmain's National Security Risks, Trump Family Ties

Senator Elizabeth Warren is turning up the heat on Bitmain. In a letter to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick on March 28th, she requested information about potential national security risks tied to the crypto mining giant.

She's also zeroing in on its business dealings with the Trump family. The letter specifically asks for communications between Bitmain and Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr.

According to reports, the FBI is running an investigation called "Operation Red Sun" to assess whether mining equipment could be remotely controlled. US regulators have raised concerns about Bitmain's products before. Bitmain has pushed back, calling the allegations unfounded. American Bitcoin Corp says its security tests turned up nothing.
